A total of 56 teams competed on a fantastic fall day with partly cloudy skies, 10-mph winds and water and air temperatures in the upper 60’s. The weigh-in statistics again reflected what a great Fishery Lake Champlain is. A total of 308 bass were weighed, 180 Smallmouth and 128 Largemouth and only 2 dead fish were brought to the scales, the other 306 were returned tot he lake and releases. An incredible 99% catch & release ratio! A total of 771.52 pounds of bass were brougth to the scales for an average weight of 2.5 pounds.
Smallmouth bass dominated the day in both numbers and weight with a 3 pound plus average in the top 5 places. Some of the teams that were interviewed said they caught 20 to 30 smallies between them before having to return for the weigh-in.
