The Vermont B.A.S.S. Federation held their qualifier for the 1999 state team on Lake Champlain, August 29-30. The weigh-in for the two day event was held at the Vermont Fish & Wildlife access at Chimney Point in West Addison, VT. There were 47 anglers competing for the 13 member team from the 7 Federated B.A.S.S. clubs across the state.
The weather conditions for the two days of competition was cooperative for Lake Champlain at this time of the year, 1-1.5 foot waves both days. Day one was cloudy with some rain showers up north. Day two gave us “blue bird” skies. Both days the water temperature was 71 degrees with the air temperature reaching 70 degrees by weigh-in. Some of the competitors caught qualifying limits 2 miles from the wiegh-in site while a few gunned 70 miles north to bag theirs. The following are the top 13 anglers that will be competing at the 1999 Eastern regional on the Ohio River in New Martinsville, West Virginia.
