The Vermont Astronomical Society returns for a second year, hosting a great afternoon, of leaning about what’s in the sky right now & observing through telescopes.

Flowers-To-Go, 1:00-2:00 p.m
Join the National Gardening Association and make your own take-home pot of annuals for this summer’s garden. All plants & materials provided. You are encouraged to bring your own innovative ‘pot’!
Wednesday, April 21
Pasta Vehicle Build & Test, 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Bottle Rockets Build & Test, 2:00-3:00 p.m. Gain hands-on experience and have fun building and testing model rockets and vehicles with teachers Dennis Ferrari and Joe Barry from Burlington High School.
Friday, April 23,
Make a ‘Lake Book’! 1:00-3:00 p.m.
Create a take-home picture book of your favorite lake experiences with well-known local artist Janet Fredericks. Must call for reservations! For parents and children ages 5 and up.
Saturday, April 24.
Earth Day at the Science Center, 12:30-4:30 p.m.
Artspace and the Lake Champlain Basin Science Center present the third annual Earth Day Waterfront Sculpture Project. Collect found objects and create your own beautiful sculpture. Prizes awarded to all participants!
Also: Facepainting, Storytelling (Wolfsong), Science Talk with “Dr. Fish” Including “Stella the Sturgeon”, “Snydley Wasteful” and “Earthy Turtle”
Special Tours of the “Living Machine” Wastewater Treatment System in South Burlington – A van will leave hourly from the Science Center entrance. Sponsored by Living Technologies, Inc.
