Science Center Receives $900K Grant

The Lake Champlain Committee will be hosting a half-day seminar entitled Protecting Habitat, Protecting Species at Angell College Center, State University of New York in Plattsburgh. The seminar runs from 1300 – 1630 on April 18th. The topics will be the lake basin’s unique habitats and the shelter they provide to plants and animals. It is a free and public event. The Lake Champlain Committee(LCC), a nonpartisan, Vermont-New York monitoring and advocacy group was formed in 1963 in response to concerns about International Paper’s sludge disposal practices. LCC’s mision is to conserve the natural resources and scenic beauty of the Lake Champlain Region; a volunteer organization which tries to raise public awareness & influence decisions that affect the Lake Champlain Region through advocacy, education, and research.
