US Power Squadron Celebrates 85 Years

The Winooski Valley Power Squadron, the organization that conducts local boating courses each March and September, was on of the first in the nation to celebrate the 85th anniversary of the United States Power Squadrons by accepting and flying a special ceremonial flag that will travel to local squadrons throughout the country. Power Squadron District Commander Pat Jones, left, of Camden, Maine, brought the ensign directly from Puerto Rico, where the program was launched. She presented it to Aulis Lind, center, commander of the Winooski Valley Squadron, and Everett Stebbins, former district commander. The ensign now goes to a squadron in New Hampshire.
